Humbling
It’s late. I’ve just finished teaching at The Blissful Breath Academy. I’m writing this to you, while parked outside the local petrol station in the rain.
For a long time, I felt my purpose was simple: to help as many people as possible. Everything I did was moving in that direction.
Then, it became clear that the best way for me to do that was to help people to breathe better. That would improve how they feel, how they think and how they experience the world.
But, there was a problem:
I could only be in one place at one time.
So, it eventually dawned on me: I have to teach people to become breathwork teachers. Then, it can really spread. In that moment, The Blissful Breath Academy was born, providing breathwork teacher training here in Ireland. And soon to be around the world (more on this in the coming weeks).
The mission of the academy is simple:
Better breathing for everyone.
At this very moment, there are 50 students who are about to complete their level one training.
And another 50 students who are about to begin their level two training.
It’s humbling.
Why? Because:
I am learning so much from these students
They are helping me see how quickly breathwork can improve people’s lives
I’ve heard stories of unthinkable tragedy that have been made bearable because of simple ways of breathing
I’ve seen people change in front of my eyes: their faces look younger, their posture is better, they are smiling again, they’re more open
I’ve seen how breathwork can make people better counsellors, better teachers, better psychotherapists, better parents, athletes, grandparents, hairdressers and nearly every other job imaginable
I’ve heard how breathing has helped people in terrible situations to realise that change is possible
The insights and experiences continue
All from breathing better
For those reasons, and many more, it’s humbling and we’re only getting started.

Sunday 7 April: advanced breathwork can help us see, and think, more clearly. It can help us find more meaning in our lives. It can help us feel more open, peaceful and loving. Advanced breathwork can be a gateway to profound, and long-lasting, change. Let me guide you through this experience this Sunday (online) at 7pm (Dublin time). Find out more.
Sunday 21 April: how do we test our ability to breathe? How do we learn to find a sense of calm despite the chaos around us? There is no better place, than deep in an ice bath. When we learn to master our breathing, we learn to use the cold as a force for good in our lives. Come and explore this with me at my upcoming Wim Hof Method workshop on Sunday 21 April in Dublin.
